→ Assorted Metropolitan Panoramas, is a hard-fought collection of large format urban photography celebrating the landscapes man builds for himself. , hailing from the rural hills of  and studying at , is fascinated by how the entirely manmade topography of cities mirrors the natural scenery she grew up with. Consisting of black and white prints from her 4x5 negatives, these works were created through great effort and toil by the photographer. Neglecting any transportation besides what is provided by the CTA and her own two feet,  carried the heavy, mini-fridge sized camera bag on her back to each shooting location, sometimes walking upward of 5 miles per photograph. By implementing such effort the artist wanted to, at least to a point, mimic the toil early landscape photographers such as Ansel Adams endured for some of their greatest work. Furthermore, Paul wanted her exertion to reflect the effort and manpower that went into the landscapes she is capturing. She believes that only the work and detail that large format provides can do the eye justice in such metropolitan panoramas. By understanding the lengths that she took to produce photos and the parallels to natural landscape photography,  hopes the audience will be able to see Chicago as the breathtaking vista she knows and loves it as.
